During her time at University, Shantel was fortunate enough to be offered an opportunity to take part in a short term work placement with Cornwall Council which gave her an insight into working with an in-house legal team. It was during this placement where Shantel felt even more connected with the law and wished to pursue law as a career.
Shortly after graduating, Shantel was offered a job with Waldrons Solicitors in February 2016 as an administrative assistant within the Residential Property department. Her role involved her opening new files for clients who were either purchasing, selling, transferring or remortgaging their properties, alongside other general administrative duties. She then progressed quickly to a secretarial role and following on from this to a paralegal role within the department. It was during this time at Waldrons where Shantel felt she had found her preferred area of law and decided to engage in further studies. Shantel is currently studying to be a Licenced Conveyancer.
