Benefit Fraud Investigations

If the Department for Work & Pensions suspect that benefit fraud has taken place, they will often contact you to attend a local Jobcentre so that an interview can take place under caution (similar to a police station interview).     This interview will be voluntary and you are free to leave at any point.

People often avoid attending these types of interview, which can lead to problems down the line should you receive a summons to attend Court.

If you have received a letter offering a voluntary interview then contact our defence team immediately so that we can advise you and be by your side during interview.

Legal Aid is available for this and we can discuss all options with you.

It is important that you have a solicitor with you as these interviews can be complex, time consuming and may have an immediate impact on you, for example suspension of benefits.
