Waldrons host successful training and social event for child care lawyers

Tuesday 8th October 2019

Waldrons Solicitors recently hosted a combined training and social event for fellow Worcestershire lawyers who are experts in the field of children’s care proceedings.

The event took place in relaxed surroundings at Worcestershire County Cricket Club where food and drinks were served before a presentation was given by Barrister and Child Care Specialist, Mark Cooper of St Ives Chambers. The presentation focussed on an update on Interim Care Orders with top tips on local practices followed by discussion and Q&As.

The event was attended by local child care lawyers from private practice and from the local authority. Everyone agreed it was hugely informative and a great opportunity to get together socially given the recent comments of the President of the Family Division about increasing pressure on family law solicitors.

Mark Cooper commented “It was a great compliment to be invited to present to local specialists in the field and I believe that we can all benefit from events like this”

Our very own Child Care team comprising of Luke Boxall, who is based at our Worcester office, together with Sapphire Stait and headed by Patrick Sheedy were all very pleased with the attendance and the positive feedback they received. They plan to hold similar events on a regular basis and details of the next one will shortly be available, for information or to be added to the mailing list for this please contact Liz Colesby on e.colesby@waldrons.co.uk. Invitations will also be sent out in due course.
