Administration Assistant | Contentious Department

Location: Merry Hill Office
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (36 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent

Are you an organised and proactive individual looking to grow your career in a professional legal setting?

Waldrons Solicitors is seeking a dedicated Administration Assistant to join our busy Contentious Department at our Merry Hill office. This is a full-time, office-based role working 36 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the team
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post and correspondence
  • Answering telephone calls and assisting with client enquiries
  • Preparing legal documents and forms
  • Managing diaries and scheduling appointments
  • Scanning, photocopying and filing documents accurately

About You:

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage time effectively and work as part of a team
  • Previous administrative experience is essential (experience in a legal environment is desirable but not required)
  • Professional, positive and proactive approach

Head of Commercial Property

Location: Merry Hill Office
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Waldrons Solicitors is seeking an experienced lawyer to lead our Commercial Property Team. This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing and growing the team, developing client relationships, and driving the revenue growth with the support of our Business Development team.

About the role

You’ll manage a busy and varied caseload of commercial property work, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, development projects, and refinancing. Alongside your fee-earning work, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the department, supervise colleagues, and play a key role in shaping its future.

This is both a hands-on and strategic position, giving you the opportunity to work on high-quality transactions while also shaping business development strategies to expand our client base and strengthen our market presence. You will enjoy a strong connection with the Board of Directors, and for the right candidate progression through to becoming a Director will be actively encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the Commercial Property Team, including recruitment, training and development of staff
  • Handling a broad range of commercial property transactions
  • Working closely with our marketing and business development team to promote the department and attract new clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents, and other professionals
  • Meeting billing targets and monitoring departmental performance

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified solicitor with extensive experience in Commercial Property (ideally 6+ years PQE)

This role is ideal for a talented lawyer who enjoys handling complex transactions, working closely with clients, and playing an active role in growing a department — without the responsibility of full team management.

About the Role

You’ll manage a busy and varied caseload of commercial property work, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, development projects, and refinancing. You’ll work alongside a supportive team, collaborating with colleagues and our business development specialists to help attract new clients and strengthen relationships with existing ones.

Employment Lawyer | Full-Time

Location: Merry Hill Office
Experience: Minimum 3 years PQE

Waldrons Solicitors is seeking a talented and dedicated Employment Lawyer to join our growing Business Services Team at our Merry Hill office. This is a full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to work on a varied caseload of employment law matters.

About the Role

As an Employment Lawyer at Waldrons, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a range of non- contentious employment law issues, including contracts, disciplinary matters, grievances, redundancy, TUPE, and tribunal claims.
  • Assist with contentious employment matter ranging from initial fixed fee appointments to representing clients in employment tribunal proceedings. You will need to have experience issuing employment tribunal claims and dealing with ACAS Early Conciliation.
  • Support both individuals and businesses (small and large) with practical, commercially focused employment law solutions.
  • Assist with settlement agreements and negotiation with the other side.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to deliver excellent client service.

About You

We are looking for a confident and proactive solicitor with:

  • A minimum of 3 years PQE in employment law, where your main focus has been employment law during your qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience handling contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.

Criminal Lawyer | Duty Solicitor

Location: Dudley Office

Hours: Full-time, including out-of-hours and weekend work for duty rota and police station representation

Waldrons Solicitors is seeking a skilled and dedicated Criminal Lawyer to join our Dudley Office. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor who can immediately join the Duty Solicitor Rota and is experienced in police station representation, court advocacy, and litigation.

The Role

As part of our Criminal Defence team, you will:

  • Handle a varied caseload of criminal defence matters
  • Represent clients at police stations and magistrates’ courts
  • Advocate in court cases, including bail applications, case management hearings, and trials
  • Participate in the Duty Solicitor Rota, including out-of-hours and weekend work
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be a qualified solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation
  • Have experience representing clients at police stations and in court
  • Be confident in advocacy and litigation
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
