Outside of work I enjoy travelling the world and visiting different countries and experiencing the cultures. I enjoy spending time with my family and taking my large puppy on long walks in the country. I also enjoy camping in our family campervan, especially when the sun is shining!
QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
I completed my A-levels at King Edwards College and this started my interest in law. I knew I wanted to study law at A-level and throughout the two years and various educational trips to Court, I knew this was the career path I wanted to take.
I then went on to achieve a degree in Law and Business Law at Birmingham City University. I also completed the Legal Practice Course with a Master’s Degree at The University of Law. Whilst completing the Legal Practice Course, I carried out an administration role with Waldrons, which allowed me gain the knowledge and skills of the legal world. I would help in the very busy Commercial Department, which again gave me the insight knowledge I needed into the corporate world of law.
The Legal Practice Course is extremely practical and hands on and provided me with skills I could transfer into the workplace when I started my training contract.
I started my legal career in the workplace with Waldrons in 2018, starting and completing my Training Contract with Waldrons Solicitors. I completed three different seats and assisted in the Employment, Commercial and Clinical Negligence department. Whilst I expanded my knowledge and client skills in the Clinical negligence Department, visiting various clients and learning how the funding works, I have always enjoyed buying and selling businesses and assisting with due diligence and employment law and I, therefore, knew that Commercial law was the area I wanted to specialise in.
I qualified with the firm in August 2020 and have not stopped developing my skills and knowledge since then. I now work in the Employment, Commercial and Litigation Departments and enjoy all three areas of law as they are closely linked.
I have also been involved with Waldrons’ Junior Lawyers and helped to expand the business development within Waldrons. I have taken part in LinkedIn Training and helped other members of the team organise our own Junior Lawyers networking games night, which was a success!
Waldrons are a long-established business and through their support, I can offer you or your business a dedicated service focusing on getting your money back in your pocket, advising individuals on settlement agreements or assisting with breach of contract disputes in the Civil Courts.
I have had experience in drafting and advising on settlement agreements, advising individual employees in respect of their general employment or litigation situation and bringing unfair dismissal claims in the Employment Tribunal. I have been told that I provide clear and easy to understand advice to individuals, for some of whom this is their first contact with the legal system or a solicitor.
