Qualifications

After studying law at University of Oxford (St Peter’s College) to masters level, I spent more than a decade in commercial property/real estate at two Top 50 national law firms; firstly at DWF (then Cobbetts) and later at Shakespeare Martineau (then Shakespeares).

After a partnership level position elsewhere, Tim set up a niche consultancy department within Waldrons several years ago.

Work Experience

My department at Waldrons services clients nationwide in commercial property and development.

I have a notable presence in acting alongside national developers in large scale site assembly and providing environmental management solutions.

I also have a wealth of experience in freehold site acquisition and disposal, leasehold work and land promotion agreements and conditional contracts.

I have a particular expertise at Waldrons in the Telecoms sector acting exclusively for landlords and landowners against mobile phone operators.  My department is one of the principal law departments in the country acting against Telecoms operators both in non-contentious and litigious work.

I deal with telecoms lease renewals, relocation and removal of phone masts in cases of landlord redevelopment, mast sale agreements to investors, and complex cases involving the interpretation of The Digital Economy Act 2017 and the Electronic Communications Code.

My department has acted in some recent high profile cases gaining a national presence for landlords against operators including:

  • acting at the BBC Television Centre redevelopment in Salford Quays for a developer in a complex mast relocation involving four telecoms operators
  • advising a significant cathedral in the south west in a complex lift and shift relocation of telecoms equipment in accordance with listed building and ecclesiastical law
  • acting for a central London developer in interpreting the Electronic Communications Code in a potential “test case” under the Code
  • acting for an international film studio in the relocation and renewal of two telecoms leases in order to facilitate studio redevelopment
