Exciting news for our Community

Tuesday 9th April 2024

We are thrilled to announce the installation of a brand-new community defibrillator at our Head Office on The Waterfront, Merry Hill.

This life-saving device has been strategically placed in a central location to ensure quick and easy access during emergencies.

A defibrillator is a crucial tool in treating sudden cardiac arrests, a condition that can affect anyone, regardless of age or health status. Immediate intervention with a defibrillator can significantly increase the chances of survival and reduce the risk of long-term complications.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this initiative a reality, including our staff, family and friends together with the support of our local community. Your support and collaboration have played a vital role in enhancing the safety and well-being of our community members.

Remember, in an emergency situation, every second counts. With the installation of this life saving equipment, we are taking proactive steps to ensure that our community is well-equipped to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies, hence our defibrillator being accessible to the public 24/7. If and when needed, the emergency services give out its location and access details. This is due to it being registered on ‘The Circuit’ a national database which assists the Emergency Services to know exactly where defibrillator can be found by members of the public. Records are kept up-to-date and the machine is regularly checked by staff members known as its ‘Guardians’.

Our Managing Director, Joseph Norton says “We are very pleased to have been able to provide this amazing facility to the public and to the business community here on The Waterfront. I understand that there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year around the UK. Without emergency assistance, many people won’t survive so the more defibrillators that are made publicly accessible, the greater the chance is of immediate treatment and restarting someone’s heart. I would encourage more businesses to get involved and install one” .

Joseph is seen here with Brierley Hill Councillors Adam Davies and Wayne Little who have been raising awareness of the need to install #morelifesavingequipment in our local area.
