What is a Serious Crime?

There are three categories of criminal offence in the UK, these being summary offences, either way offences and indictable only offences. Serious crime falls under indictable only offences that can only be heard in the Crown Court.

What are Indictable Offences?

These are the most serious offences and are tried in the Crown Court. It includes offences such as murder, rape, causing death by dangerous driving, manslaughter, kidnapping and robbery.
