What is Insurance Fraud?
When someone purposely deceives an insurance company, such as making a false claim or providing incorrect information, this is insurance fraud and is often done for financial benefit. Various scenarios come under insurance fraud, such as:
- Staging an accident by deliberately causing one or pretending an accident occurred when it never did.
- Exaggerating an injury or lying about one in order to claim more money.
- Using forged documents or false information in the application process for an insurance claim.
