Waldrons Walk for Black Country Women’s Aid

Tuesday 7th October 2025

At Waldrons, we believe in giving back to our community and supporting causes that make a meaningful difference to those who need it most. This September, our colleagues came together to take part in the ‘Cut Out Abuse’ campaign organised by Black Country Women’s Aid, completing walks of 5, 10 and 15 kilometres across the West Midlands canal network.

The campaign raises vital funds for women and children fleeing unsafe households where domestic abuse and modern slavery are a daily reality. The initiative is in response to a local and national shortage of refuge spaces and BCWA’s goal is to build new, safe accommodation. Every pound raised helps those affected to break free from abusive situations and start rebuilding their lives.

Across the month, six Waldrons teams took part in the walks, enjoying beautiful canal routes, conversations with colleagues and time away from desks to take in fresh air and sunshine. Their combined efforts have raised a fantastic total of over £2,000 for the campaign.

Joseph Norton, Managing Director at Waldrons, said:
“Seeing our teams unite to support Black Country Women’s Aid has been both inspiring and humbling. The generosity of our colleagues, clients, families and friends shows just how deeply this cause resonates. At Waldrons, we are committed to using our platform not only to serve our clients but also to support the communities we are proud to be a part of.”

Sara Ward, CEO of Black Country Women’s Aid added:
“We are so grateful to Waldrons, who took full advantage of their office’s stunning waterside location to take part in our sponsored walk challenge.

With their strong commitment to helping some of our most vulnerable communities, Waldrons are helping us to build brand-new refuge spaces for women and children escaping domestic abuse and modern slavery.

We are proud to partner with Waldrons and would like to thank them for their energy and enthusiasm, which was integral to making our Cut out Abuse fundraiser such a success.”

We are grateful to every person who participated, donated or encouraged our teams along the way. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the lives of women and children who need it most.
