About me
I started within the legal sector in 2002 as a paralegal, having first completed my A-levels at King Edwards VI College in 1997. My law Degree at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and my Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester. The Legal Practice Course taught me a variety of skills relating to the legal workplace and then I have expanded on these continually gaining knowledge and understanding to enable me to better help my clients.
Career Pathway and Professional Development
As a paralegal, I worked in a busy litigation department which specialises in Personal Injury cases in Birmingham and after this I moved to a high street practice in Stourbridge where I was able to complete my training contract. One of my training contract seats was in Private Client and I qualified as a solicitor In January 2004. I then returned to practising in litigation work until 2011 when I took some time away from the office to raise my young family.
With my children, getting older and starting school I felt it was time to return to the legal sector and in 2018, I began to work at Hallmark Hulme Solicitors in Worcester in the Private Client department. I started with providing advice on Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney but quickly expanding into Probate and Estate Planning. I was also responsible for obtaining Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme Re-Accreditation for the firm.
In February 2021 I moved to the Private Client team at Waldron’s and have quickly established connections both in and outside the firm so in conjunction with the service I can provide I can also offer a full complement of other services to my clients including a bespoke service with a local IFA’s.
Outside of work
Outside of work I enjoy walking and spending time outdoors with my family. Since 2011, I have been a member the Stourbridge Branch of Ladies Circle Great Britain and Ireland where the motto is Fun, Friendship and Fundraising. As part of the group I have organised various fundraisers including children’s face painting at the Stourbridge Carnival, charity galas and sporting events around the Black Country.
