Qualifications

Katie has achieved a Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law with The Institute of Legal Executives.  Katie is also due to begin studying for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination in Summer 2023, alongside her work as a Personal Injury Litigation Executive at Waldrons.

 

Work Experience

Katie has more than 20 years’ experience of working in Solicitors practices in Birmingham and the Black County, specialising in Personal Injury.

Katie’s career began as a receptionist at Middleton Dummer Solicitors.  She was quickly promoted to Legal Secretary where she successfully studied the ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law qualification.

Next came a move to Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, a top 100 National Law Firm where Katie handled thousands of Personal Injury claims on behalf of Claimant’s who suffered Personal Injury as a result of road traffic accidents.  Katie handled cases at every stage from taking initial enquiries, to settlement pre and post litigation.  Katie has many successfully Trials and has represented hundreds of minors in Infant Approval Settlement Hearings.  After a few years at Irwin Mitchell again Katie was promoted to Senior Case Manager.

Following a 16 year career at Irwin Mitchell Katie then joined Trinity Law Partnership in Birmingham.  A bespoke Personal Injury Practice acting for Police Federation members, Community Union members as well as private clients.  As well as victims of road traffic accidents this broadened Katies’ knowledge with the addition of acting for victims of workplace accidents and public liability cases.

In 2019 Trinity Law Partnership amalgamated with Waldrons Solicitors and over the last 3 years Katie has successfully concluded many Personal Injury claims on behalf of Claimant’s from straightforward cases at Waldrons to assisting in more complex and higher value cases.  Katie has received positive feedback from client’s at Waldrons.  Katie is continuing her professional development and is about to embark upon a Solicitors apprenticeship which includes preparing to sit the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

Katie is part of The Compensation Department at Waldrons who are ranked in Chambers and Partners and are listed as a ‘Firm to Watch’ in the Legal 500.

Katie also attend a local neighbourhood clinic at the Sandwell Irish Centre in the West Midlands to help provide advice and sign posting to members of her local community.

 

Personal Information

Alongside a successful legal career and studying, Katie has three young children and can often be found on the Sunday morning football side-line or enjoying a walk in the park.
