About Me

Being a mum to 2 children takes up most of Amanda’s spare time, being the taxi driver to Karate, Football and Piano lessons each week. She is also the wife of the chairman of the Leukaemia Unit Appeal fund, a local charity that supports the Georgina Unit at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, raising money for the patients and their families through fundraising events she participates in frequently.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Amanda completed her Law Degree in 2001 obtaining her 2:1 with honours from The University of Wolverhampton. She then took a year out to travel South East Asia and Australia and upon return to the UK completed the Legal Practice Course again at the University of Wolverhampton obtaining a commendation.

Career Pathway

Amanda first joined Tanfields Solicitors in Dudley in 2003 as a paralegal for the Criminal and Immigration departments. She quickly became qualified as an Immigration Caseworker and ran a multi handed murder for Mr Vahey who trained her and mentored her throughout her Training contract that was offered at this firm. Here she also represented clients at Prison law adjudication hearings and prepared cases for Immigration tribunals.

Amanda, in 2010, obtained her Higher rights qualification within the Criminal division to enable her to appear in the Crown Court. She has continued to represent clients charged with murder, multi handed drugs conspiracies and other specialist areas such as Animal cruelty and Benefit Fraud cases at other local firms.

Amanda has now been with Waldrons for almost 4 years and represents clients on the court and police station 24 hour duty rotas. She is also currently engaged in a Very High Costs case, another specialism where particular skill is required to analyse and prepare an incredibly complex case at the Crown Court.
