Hannah enjoys gardening and in particular garden design. Her proudest achievement is designing and building a garden arch with faux gate to finish off a rose bed in her front garden. In the evenings Hannah is learning to play the piano. Hannah also sits on the Lawyer’s Christian Fellowship Operations Committee. Hannah regularly mentors young aspiring lawyers through the College of Law.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Hannah qualified as a solicitor in 2009, having studied at Birmingham Central University and then completed a training contract with Waldrons. She went on to train and qualify as a Workplace and Employment Mediator. In May 2016 she became an Associate Director with the Firm and she heads up the Corporate and Employment Teams.
Hannah is also currently studying for her qualification in level 2 British Sign Language.
Hannah specialises in Corporate, Commercial and Employment Law have gained 12 years’ experience which allows her to provide a holistic service to clients when working with them to fulfil their business needs.
As Data Protection Officer and Deputy Compliance Officer for Waldrons she has experience in dealing with a wide range of regulatory bodies and requirements.
Most of Hannah’s clients are in the manufacturing, chemical, IT and telecommunications and professional services sectors. She also has particular experience of working with healthcare providers such as doctors, dentists and care homes. Hannah’s clients are both national and international and she often attends meetings with representatives from companies in various countries including across Europe and America.
Hannah has advised on multimillion pound sales and purchases including a care home, nursery, metal recycling business, packaging company, and radio stations. She regularly advises on exit strategies for senior management and shareholder disputes as well succession planning strategies for the next generation. Hannah regularly comes across clients who require bespoke solutions to varying problems including dealing with complicated family business structures which require directors to be able to break shareholder deadlocks, complicated performance related options to allow the next generation to step up in management and ownership of businesses and succession planning where it is important to the owners that the ethos of the business is carried forward into the future.
Terms and conditions are vital to any business and she regularly assists businesses in ensuring that their terms and conditions are tailored, practical and easy to understand. As part of Hannah’s holistic approach she is able to advice on the necessity to properly protect or assign intellectual property rights. A number of her client’s supply large multi-national companies and are faced with long and complicated contracts which she is able to help them understand and navigate.
Hannah prides herself on trying to makes things as simple and as easy to understand as possible. She takes a collaborative approach to set her client’s up for success rather than litigation.
Hannah regularly presents training seminars and has done so in conjunction with Barclays and various other financial and insurance institutions. She runs workshops for the Black Country CIPD law days – making employment law fun and easy to understand, taking a gameshow approach to help cement the learning – claim or no claim was a particular favourite of these workshops.
