You want to know that a loved one will be looked after properly if they cannot look after themselves

If a loved one is suffering from a condition that means they are no longer able to look after themselves and they do not have a Lasting Power of Attorney in place, you will need to apply for a Deputy Order from the Court of Protection to help you look after them and administer their affairs. Contact us to ensure you have a dedicated Court of Protection Expert to guide you through the process.

Why do I need a Deputy Order?

If you are trying to look after someone else's affairs, you need to ensure that both they and you are protected. A Deputy Order will give you the legal authority to look after and manage a loved one's financial affairs and sometimes their personal welfare too. Without a Deputy Order, you will be unable to protect a loved one's interests and there is a risk that you could find yourself in difficulties if you try to manage their affairs without having a Deputy Order.

Why make an application now?

A deputy application can often take several months to go through the Court. The sooner you act, the sooner you will be able to look after a loved one's affairs. Until it is granted, nothing can be done and quite often there are matters requiring urgent attention.

  • My solicitor was very thorough and knowledgeable in her explanation, communication and understanding of what our needs were and how our wishes will be met following our deaths. We were both relaxed and confident in our dealings and are very happy knowing this matter of unease in now finally in hand.

  • We found our solicitor to be very easy to talk. As our situation is quite a sensitive one, making a Will was going to be hard to do and our solicitor made it all seem a little easier.
